As a family photographer, I am blessed to be able to meet so many truly amazing families. On this particular day, I met the Johnson Family. They have the sweetest little girl who was turning one in September. ( Yes, I’m a tad late blogging their session, but better late than never, right? )
If you have ever had a session with me, you know I start almost any session with little kids seated on a quilt I bring. I find it helps get your kiddos ready for the session and used to me all while being held by mom and dad so they know they are safe. No stranger danger! Now, a lot of super silly things happen during family sessions but this little nugget was so funny. She did not like my blanket that I brought! She would not sit on it at all and any time we brought it out, she was not having it.
However, I was not going to let that stop us. So we rolled on! The absolute last thing I ever want my sessions to be are stressful so if she wasn’t having it, we moved on! We sang lots and turned on her favorite tunes on dad’s phone.
Mom and Dad brought the most amazingly huge pink balloon for her solo shots and I’m so glad they did!
And…We got over the fear of the blanket thanks to mom gently coaxing her to snuggle with it!
I have a small habit of asking clients to run around a location for “just one more shot”. Thankfully the Johnson’s agreed and followed me to capture a killer sunset that night! I am so grateful for l clients that trust my vision and will jump on something new with me!
Thank you so much Johnson Family for choosing me to be your family photographer! I hope to see y’all again in the future!
